Location — What You're Actually Getting

Whetstone is in the Antioch neighborhood, which is south Nashville. It's not downtown, it's not East Nashville, it's not the Gulch. What it is: quiet, less expensive than central neighborhoods, and about 10 minutes from Nashville International Airport. You're close to I-24 and I-40 which gets you downtown in about 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. For remote workers who don't need to commute daily, this location actually makes a lot of sense — you get more space for less money and you're still reasonably close to everything.

Pricing

One bedrooms start around $1,272 per month, two bedrooms from around $1,687, and three bedrooms from $1,985. For Nashville that's genuinely below average — the complex is roughly 30% cheaper than the Nashville city-wide average. Units come with in-unit washer/dryer, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and private balconies or terraces. Utilities are not included.

Amenities

Whetstone has two outdoor pools, indoor and outdoor fitness centers, a basketball court, pet parks, grilling stations, a car wash, and a clubhouse. Amenities are available daily from 10am to 9pm. For a complex at this price point the amenity package is solid. Phase II of the community added additional features including a pet spa and expanded fitness options.

✓ Pros

  • Below average Nashville pricing
  • In-unit washer/dryer included
  • Strong amenity package for the price
  • Pet friendly with dedicated pet parks
  • 10 minutes from airport
  • Quick access to I-24 and I-40

✗ Cons

  • Not walkable — you need a car
  • Not in a trendy neighborhood
  • Some reviews mention management quality issues after ownership changes
  • Morning traffic on Bell Rd can be slow

Who It's Best For

Whetstone makes the most sense for remote workers who want space and value over location. If your job is fully remote and you don't need to be near a specific office or walkable to downtown amenities, the price-to-space ratio here is hard to beat in Nashville. Families or people with pets also tend to like it given the three bedroom options and pet-friendly setup. If you want to be in the middle of Nashville's nightlife and restaurant scene, this isn't your spot. But if you want a comfortable, affordable base to live and work from remotely — it's worth looking at.
